He gave the examples of Steve Jobs, Larry Paige and Bill Gates while elaborating on the Generation of Baby Boomers who changed the business scenario in USA. Shri Desai said that India has an advantage of Demographic Dividend, whereby more than 50 crores of young population in the world resides. Therefore the next 20 years belong to the present day students. He further reiterated that Next Google like phenomenon may happen in India.
Mr. Desai also appreciated the unique contribution of SMS Varanasi and C-SHE (Centre for Sprituality and Human Enrichment) towards providing Moral and ethical soul to management education and said that this kind of education will provide an edge to the institution and the students of this institution in the time to come.
Shri. Sanjay Pugalia, Editor-in-Chief, CNBC Awaaz, Mumbai enlightened the students about the emerging sectors such as Infrastructure, Consultancy, Financial Services, Real Estate which have huge potentials in the city like Varanasi.
He also advised students to find the gaps, recognize the potentials and exploit them as an entrepreneur. He also told students not to worry and be stressed but work hard even if one is working in high pressure profiles like sales.
The hard work and learning in the initial two years of work decides the destinity. He also urged students to travel a lot when undergoing their professional courses as it develops the learning experiences and to get the habit of thinking outside the box.
Shri Viral Doshi,renowned Education Counselor and Director, Viral J. Doshi Associates, Mumbai answered the queries of students regarding the viable options they should consider while making a maiden attempt to enter the corporates. Shri Doshi corrected many misconceptions students generally make and made them understand that the importance of work life balance.
School of Management sciences witnessed an august presence of intellectuals in the form of Shri. Ritham Desai, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley, Mumbai and Shri. Sanjay Pugalia, Editor-in-Chief, CNBC Awaaz, Mumbai, at an inspirational talk at School of Management Sciences.
As a part of guest lecture series Prof.Atul Tandon (Former Director of-Mudra Institute of Communication Ahemdabad) visited School Of Management Science Varanasi on 2nd & 3rd Nov 2014.Special guest lecture was on Integrated Marketing Communication and was attended by PGDM 3rd and MBA 3rd students.
Guest lecture focused on Integrated Nature of Marketing Communication, Advertising and Branding.
There was also a session on advertising which focused on:-
• Advertising ethics
• Creativity in international advertising
• Working of advertisement agencies
• Ad Planning and execution.
At the end of the session there was an open forum for question and answer session.
In his welcome and inaugural address Prof P.N Jha (Director SMS, Varanasi) enlightened the importance of Integrated Marketing Communication in today’s complex and dynamic business environment. Present on the occasion were Shri.Alok Kumar (Dean-Research and Development) and entire SMS faculty members.

On the occasion of “RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS”-31ST Oct 2014, a Blood Donation Camp was organized at School Of Management Sciences, Varanasi
Camp was organized by RAINBOW a social welfare club of the institute in association with Indian Medical Association- Blood Bank, Varanasi.
During his inaugural and welcome address The Director of SMS, Varanasi, Prof. P. N. Jha stated the importance of Blood Donation. He further said that Blood Donation being a noble cause strengthens the unity of the nation and creates a invisible bond amongst the citizen of the country .
Dignitaries present on the occasion to grace the event included Dr.N P Singh-President IMA Varanasi, Shri SK Singh-Joint Secretary SMS Varanasi, Prof.P.N Jha-Director SMS Varanasi, Shri Alok Kumar- Dean R& D, and Shri Kamalsheel Mishra-Dean Computer Science. During his address Dr.NP Singh-President IMA discussed the contribution of the institute towards the noble cause appreciated the efforts. On behalf of IMA, Dr.NP Singh committed the best possible support in case of any urgency to the whole SMS family and blessed the students with best wishes.
31st October 2014 was observed as Activity Day at School Of Management Science Varanasi. On the occasion, various clubs of the institutes organized different activities to hone the extra co-curricular activities of the students and to inculcate the essence of security and unity for the Nation.
Spark club organized the SOLO Dance Completion. Winners for the same were

3. Sonu Rizvi -BBA 3rd
Contrast Club organized the event ‘Ad Darshanam’ in which ‘Design a logo and Tag line’ competition was organized. In the event students were asked to design a logo and tag line for any hypothetical company with a brief explanation of same. The winners for the contest will be declared in the due course of time and will be awarded.
Box Office Club of the institute showed a Movie ‘Life is Beautiful’ to the students of PGDM and MBA. An Italian movie directed by Roberto Benigni , brings to light the cruelty, brutality and the inhuman temperament of the Nazis led out to the Jews, resulting in an outbreak of war and massacre. The movie highlighted the great strengths of a Father, how he protects his family from the terror of the Nazi war machine. The beauty of Roberto Benigni was that audience forgets the horrifying conditions of the war focused on how a father protects his family.
Synergy-The Literary Club organized the following events:
1. Bizz Wizards and Tech wizards 2014
A quiz competition for both Management and Computer Science students was organized to hone and develop their analytical skills.
Winner team for the Bizz Wizards was Utkarsha Dubey and Sintu Kumar of PGDM 3.
Winner team for the Tech Wizards was of Rachit Sinha and Jyoti Singh of MCA 5th and MCA 3rd semester respectively.
2. Extempore Competition was organized to identify and hone the thought building process of the minds of our young professional.Swati Singh from PGDM 1st was the winner for same.
Crest Club organized various sports activity like Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton and Carrom. Students from all the courses actively participated in the sports activity.
