MCA (LATERAL ENTRY) ORIENTATION PROGRAMME-2016

The New Batch of Master of Computer Applications (MCA-Lateral Entry) programme inaugurated at School of Management Sciences on 9th August, Tuesday, amidst the august presence of Prof. P. N. Jha, Director SMS Varanasi and Prof. K. S. Mishra, Dean-Systems & IT, SMS Varanasi. Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. Jha in his motivating welcome address, said that the environment is witnessing tectonic changes which have led to plethora of challenges for the students in future. He further said that the rate of obsoleteness of knowledge is very high in IT sector. Therefore consistent efforts by students to innovate, create and disseminate knowledge are the success mantras. Students should try to sharpen their skills, competencies and business acumen to be successful in all their future endeavors. Mr. Shambhu Saran Srivastava (Associate Professor & Coordinator MCA Course) gave the outline of the MCA programme to the new students and encouraged them to work hard for becoming a successful professional. Prof. Mishra gave Vote of thanks in Inaugural session.

Later Mr. Ashish Tiwari, Assistant Professor motivated the students by discussing importance of positive attitude in Career Building. Next interaction took place between students and Mrs. Pratima Bhargava, Librarian, SMS Varanasi. She talked about the ways to best utilize the SMS Central library. Later in the session Mr. Anand Prakash Dube, Associate Professor gave presentation on Faculty members at SMS Varanasi. Dr. Abhishek Srivastava, Assistant Professor, suggested students about possible career avenues after completion of MCA Course. This session was coordinated by Dr. Aditya Gupta, Assistant Professor.

In next session, Mr. Rishi Raman Singh, Associate Professor, discussed about discipline and code of conduct required from students. Dr. Pallavi Pathak, Assistant Professor talked about Co-curricular activities at institute. Mr. Ram Gopal Gupta, Associate Professor explained about IT infrastructure at SMS and Prof. Raj Kumar Singh discussed about Entrepreneurship opportunities after completion of MCA Course. This session was coordinated by Mr. Sumit Jalan, Assistant Professor-SMS Varanasi.
