One Week workshop (26.08.2013 to 02.09.2013) on topic ‘Advanced Android Mobile Platform’ commenced at SMS Varanasi. Workshop is organized for MCA IVth Semester students.
Workshop started in presence of trainers Mohd. Adnan, Senior Android Developer, Mr. Brajesh Mishra, Senior Java Developer and Mr. Rohit Kumar, Web Application Expert (all from Softpro India Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow) with the blessings of Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi.
Workshop will comprise complete thirty five hours interaction and exercises spread in seven days schedule. Workshop is planned to deal with various Android related issues like License Issues, Mobile Application Development Targeting Android, User interfaces, Intents and services, Storing and retrieving data, Networking and Web services, Graphics and Animation, Multimedia, Maps, Location Services.
On the final day of workshop participating students will be provided Training Certificate from Trainer organization.
Details about the organization engaged in training are as follows: Softpro India Computer Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was founded in 2004, by a group of Technocrats, Er. S. K. Workshop activities were coordinated by MCA Students under guidance of Prof. P. N. Jha, Director SMS, Varanasi and faculty members Prof. K. S. Mishra, Mr. Shambhu Sharan Srivastava, Mr. Ram Gopal Gupta, Mr. Rajiv Katare along with members of Computer Lab.
Mini-Tech Marathon Intra-Institute Competition held for BCA sixth semester students at SMS Varanasi campus. Total 5 groups of four students each qualified for competition. Competition was scheduled for continuous eight hours.
The topic of competition was Web-site development for world-peace and students were free to use any web development tool or language to develop required website.
This competition was divided in to three phases and their evaluation was also done on the same phase basis. It was an open-ended competition, which means student groups may use books or even access web-sites online..

In a formal function School of Management Sciences, Varanasi paid tribute to the father of our constitution, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. During inaugural session of function Director of the institution Prof. P.N. Jha gave emphasis on the learning from his life and mentioned the importance of the philosophy of Dr. Ambedkar. He also stressed on the abolition of caste system and untouchability and consider every individual as a pure creation of god.
Later on Registrar of the Institution Mr. Sanjay Gupta shared some incidence from Dr. Ambedkar’s life. He also put light on the relevence of Dr. Ambedkar’s teaching and his contribution in social welfare. From student side Mr. Rahul Pandey also shared his view on the same. Programme was coordinated by Mr. Ashish Tiwari and Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Kamal Sheel Mishra.
School of Management Sciences in association with Varanasi Management Association and Panchganga Foundation organized a workshop on Youth Empowerment 7th April 2016. Chief Guest Shri Indresh Ji (Member, All India Executive Council- Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) during his deliberation highlighted the importance of Youth in the development of the nation. He stressed on inculcation of Patriotism, Socialization, and Cultural values in the youth for their overall development. He said that youth is having required traits to face any troublesome situation; a right direction to their efforts can do miracle and make our country a superpower. Advising the youth on prevailing threats he said that the accelerated development phase of India has created serious concerns to some nations and they are trying to ruin the cultural heritage of India. One has to be very vigil in these aspects. He also discussed the contemporary issues of anti-national movements in some colleges and universities of India.
Addressing the youth the distinguished guest Dr. Hemant Gupta (Founder Director-Panchganga Foundation and MD of Samvedna Hospitals Pvt. Ltd.) said that Indian youth is spread across the globe and is contributing in each and every area of global development. Focusing on the skilled youth population of India, he asked a very important question to the students that despite of having such huge talent pool why our India is still behind of few developed nations. He considered this issue as vulnerable point against the development of nation and asked student to think on it.
In his deliberation another distinguished guest Dr. Rajeev Srivastava (Professor-History and Social Science Department- BHU & Founder of Anaaj Bank) stressed on inculcation of emotions and patriotism in the professional studies and gave a slogan of “Career with Emotions”
Earlier in the programme Prof. S.K. Singh (President, Varanasi Management Association) extended a very warm welcome to the guests and said that youth is having bubbling enthusiasm which has to be regulated and utilized the right way. This can surely ensure rapid national development. After all, all the people can only exercise their full potential when they are young and energetic. Youth is that period in which revolutionary thoughts spring to mind and these thoughts shape the world we live in.
Focusing on the importance of Youth Empowerment Prof.P.N Jha (Director, SMS-Varanasi) considered the youth as social actors of change and progress and said that they are having various challenges in front of them. Tactfully they have to convert these challenges in to the opportunities and give their best in the development of the nation.
Programme was coordinated by Mr. Ashish Tiwari, Assistant Professor, SMS Varanasi and Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Raj Kumar Singh, Professor, SMS Varanasi.
