Prof. Prithvish Nag, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth and the Chief Guest of the Orientation Programme of the Under-Graduate courses at School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi in his exhortation to the freshers of BBA, BCA and B. Com. Programmes said that the students should try to become solution providers in life. The leadership role has to be taken by each and every one today. Our minds should be open to perceive societal requirements and we must work for the good of society, he added. He also asked the new incumbents to become responsible citizen and learn from the energetic environment of SMS.
Further, in his inaugural address, he congratulated the students on joining these courses at SMS because this Institution happens to be the pioneer in envisioning the courses of BBA and BCA. He further hoped that next time more students would join the University’s top-10 merit list in these programmes. SMS already gives University toppers year after year and more than 5 students everytime fall in the top-10 category. He also asked the students to take the orientation programme seriously as this is the starting point of career building. He also asked the students to have self-discipline which would help them transform into future leaders.
Earlier, welcoming the Chief Guest, the Director of SMS Varanasi, Prof. P. N. Jha said that no better situation a student can get in that the VC himself comes to inaugurate the Orientation programme of the courses belonging to the MGKV, Varanasi. He asked the students to utilize the facilities and amenities of SMS and grow into an ethical professional which the Institution is known for.
The Preamble of the Institution was presented by Associate Professor, Krishna Kant Bajpai while the pedagogy of the UG programmes was discussed by the Dean (R&D), Prof. Alok Kumar. Later subsequent sessions were taken by the respective course coordinators – Shri Atish Khadse (BBA), Shri Rajiv Katare (BCA) and Dr. Hemant K Yadav (B. Com.). Shri Anindo Bhattacharji gave the faculty briefing while Entrepreneurship as a career option was discussed by Prof. R. K. Singh.
The Executive Secretary of SMS, Dr. M. P. Singh felicitated the Chief Guest with a memento.The Vote-of-thanks was presented by Prof. Sandeep Singh (Dean-DSA) while the inaugural session was coordinated by Mrs. Pallavi Pathak (Assistant Professor). On this occasion, the 22nd issue of Management Insight journal (International premier publication of SMS Varanasi, which is indexed on UGC’s INFLIBNET) was also released.
