It was a moment of pride and glory for School of Management Sciences, Varanasi when Mr. Alok Kumar, Dean (Research & Development) was invited for a panel discussion at ‘Prime Time’, a scholarly program being aired on renowned news channel NDTV India.
Mr. Alok Kumar is an Associate Professor at SMS Varanasi and has been a brilliant academician and researcher in the field of political advertising.
The panel discussion was based on the theme ‘Political Advertisement’ where many politicians and experts were sharing their thoughts and experiences on the effectiveness and impact of advertisement given by political parties on various media.
26th January 1950 is one of the most important days in Indian history as it was on this day the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state. On this day India became a totally republican unit. SMS Varanasi celebrated this 65th Republic Day with much enthusiasm and pleasure.
With the conventional Flag hoisting ceremony, Director of the institute Prof P.N.Jha, initiated the program. In his inaugural dialogue he discussed about the importance of day in India history. He motivated the students for putting their contribution towards development of country, institution along with their own development. He has also talked about the contribution of patrons of SMS towards establishment and growth of country.
Apart from this chief activity, plenty of other important events have also taken place in premises of SMS. Towards making environment more pleasant and healthy, plantation activity has also been organized at institute. Director of institute initiated this activity, in presence of Executive Secretary Dr. M. P. Singh and senior faculty members. Faculties and students followed this activity of plantation.
Another activity of cloth distribution took place at Assi Ghat by Students of SMS Varanasi under Rainbow-Social Welfare Club. Clotes were gathered by the students and faculty memebrs of SMS Varanasi.
“Air-o-Bike” invented , designed and developed by Dr B. R. Singh , Director – R&D, SMS Technical Campus, Lucknow to be featured in Limca Book of Records
The forthcoming issue of “Limca Book of Records” slated to be launched in February 2014 will feature “Air-o-Bike” invented , designed and developed by Dr B. R. Singh , Director – R&D, SMS Technical Campus, Lucknow .
Prof (Dr) Bharat Raj Singh of School of Management Sciences, Lucknow and Prof Onkar Singh of Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur, UP developed an air turbine engine with capacity to generate 5.5 HP (4.1 kW)
power by using compressed air as fuel. The air engine measuring 4 inch (100mm) in outer casing diameter, 3 inch (75mm) in rotor diameter and 1.5 inch (35 mm approx.) in width can run a motor bike for 40 minutes using compressed air at 4-6 bar (60-90 psi) pressure. The load test conducted in the lab showed that the engine runs at 2000-3000 rpm with load and 10,000 rpm without load. The unique zero emission air engine was notified in Patent Journal of Govt of India on April 13, 2012.
Air-O-Bike, a motorcycle fitted with their concept air turbine engine, was exhibited before President of India at Lucknow on May 10, 2013.
Dr. Bhaswati Battacharya, MD, Founder & Producer, Betel Nut Productions, NY , USA, & Senior Fulbright Scholar, visited SMS Varanasi campus on Saturday January 04, 2014.
During her visit Dr. Bhattacharya interacted with the faculty members of SMS Varanasi.
She elaborated the “importance of following different steps of Dincharya( Daily Routine) as prescribed by the Ayurveda”.
She also dwelt upon Fulbright Nehru Fellowship programme and the procedure to apply for the same.
