SMS Varanasi Faculty member presented paper @ Wise Management Conference 2012 held at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai China

Anindo Bhattacharjee, a Lecturer at School of Management Sciences Varanasi presented a paper on “Sustainable Management Practices through Ancient Indian Wisdom” was jointly authored by Prof. Sandeep Singh, Coordinator, Centre for Spiritualism & Human Enrichment at the School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, at the Wise Management Conference 2012 held at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai China.

The conference was organized by The Euro-China Centre for Leadership and Responsibility (ECCLAR) of the China Europe International Business School (among the top-25 B-schools in the World). The theme of the conference was “Wise Management in Organizational Complexity” from 23rd – 24th May 2012. The conference advisory board which consisted of Prof. Henri Claude de Bettignes (INSEAD), Prof. David Bevan (EABIS/CEIBS) and Prof. Bernard McKenna (UQ Business School), selected 36 papers for presentation from across the globe. Paper presenters included world renowned names like Prof. Jonathan Gosling from University of Exeter (UK), Thomas Maak from ESADE Barcelona, Mary Gentile from Babson College, Robert Chia from University of Strathclyde, Prof. Ip Po Keung from National Central University, Taiwan and many more.

Anindo Bhattacharjee was the only person who was selected from India for the paper presentation in this conference.

Further, he also represented SMS at the Wise Business Forum on 25th May 2012 where he was part of a roundtable discussion with 12 CEOs and MDs of renowned organizations from Europe, Australia, China and Singapore, doing business in Asia.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp @ SMS, Varanasi


In association with Malaviya Centre for Innovation, Incubation Entrepreneurship, IT BHU and Technology Commercialization and Facilitation Agency; School of Management Sciences, Varanasi organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp in its premises for Management Students. This activity has been sponsored and supported by Deptt. Of Science and Technology, Government of India. Prof. P.K. Mishra and Prof. Pradeep Srivastava, both from IT BHU interacted with students regarding the topic.

Program initiated with the welcoming of the Guests by Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi followed by presentation of theme by Mr. Anupam Kumar, Reader, SMS Varanasi. Later on sessions have been taken up by the Professors of IT, BHU. They discussed the numerous aspects of Entrepreneurship, notably risks related to the same as well as ways to manage such risk. They motivated the pool of students to take up endeavor of being Entrepreneur. Session shave been Coordinated by Mr. Amitabh Pndey, Reader, SMS Varanasi.

After successful completion of event, Prof. J. P. Mishra, Dean, Academics, SMS Varanasi presented the Valedictory address and provided the certificates to the participating students. Vote of thanks has been given by Mr. Anupam Kumar, Reader, SMS Varanasi.
